Auto Insurance
Discovery Insurance Company has established strong, long-standing relationships with Independent Insurance Agents located across the State of North Carolina. Our agents reside in your community which affords them the opportunity to better know you and understand your personal insurance needs. Insurance can be complicated, so involving a licensed professional agent takes away the hassle and stress when making such an important decision in protecting yourself against financial loss in the unfortunate event you are involved in an auto accident.
In exchange for premium the insurance company agrees to pay your losses as defined in your automobile policy. The personal auto policy consists of a declaration page, an agreement and definitions page, and six separate parts. The six parts are as follows: Part A-Liability, Part B- Medical Payments Coverage, Part C-Uninsured Motorist Coverage, Part D- Coverage for Damage to Your Auto, Part E-Duties After an Accident or Loss, and Part F- General Provisions. We strongly recommend you review your policy and address any questions or concerns with your agent.
The North Carolina Financial Responsibility Laws require that Automobile Liability Coverage be maintained. The minimum coverage requirements are $30,000 Bodily Injury for each person, $60,000 total Bodily Injury for all persons in an accident and $25,000 for Property Damage. If your automobile is financed, your lender most likely will also require Coverage D- Coverage for Damage to Your Auto. Your agent will be able to assist you in selecting which coverage will best meet your needs.
